Storage and Handling
• Do not tip off truck. Boards are to be either unloaded by hand or by a Hiab employee.
• Do not slide planks against each other when moving them. Lift the planks and set them down.
• Good practice is one person at each end, pick 2-3 boards at a time, carry on edge.
Short-term storage
Storing on uneven surface may cause the boards to loose their uniform shape. Store boards in stacks of
approx 100 boards clear of the ground with fillet bearers of consistent thickness placed perpendicular at
approx 600mm centres to prevent sagging. For bulk storage on site where mutiple pallets may be stacked,
the surface must be flat and even. Boards must remain on their orginal pallets if multiple pallets are to be
stacked. A maximum on 4x pallets of boards may be stacked. Protect from any damage. In situations where
the materials can be uncovered without damage, allow boards to acclimatize to surrounding environment to
ensure best installation results this may include laying boards on top of substructure prior to installation.
Long-term storage
Refer to notes above. To reduce the opportunity for mildew or mould, cover with weather proof wrap to
keep moisture from being trapped, keep ventilated as much as possible.
Care during construction
To minimize scratches, nicks, cuts and grooves, and preserve the beauty of Eco-Decking:
• Do not slide tools or drag equipment across the top of the planks during construction.
• Keep the surface of the planks free of construction waste. Tracking dirt, gravel and construction
debris across the surface of the planks may mark the boards
