DESIGN

Like most things, simplicity goes a long way. If you want a complicated deck, be prepared for everything to take a lot longer and to cost a lot more.

A stunning deck does not need to cost a lot of money. When first contemplating your design considerations, think about whats important to you, your family and when having friends around.

Do you want a lot of sun, or are you trying to stay out of the sun? Do you have outdoor furniture you need fit on your deck, or will create your own seating as part of the deck?

Is your new deck the all weather area on which your children or grandchildren can use as their main play area when the grass is too wet?

DO IT YOURSELF OR USE A CONTRACTOR?

For most this people, the idea of doing a decking project themself is nice, but will end up using a contractor. Building a deck may be a good project to get started on DIY, but make sure you have an experienced person working with you to get you started so the deck is square and level.
