Outdure’s Floating Paver System for a Beautiful Finish

We use our own Qwickbuild floating paver system to create strong and stable decks. Qwickbuild is a modular aluminum frame that is incredibly lightweight and y strong. It is suitable for low height decks and provides a level and stable surface onto which exterior tiles, composite decking boards, and even artificial turf can be attached. It is suitable for outdoor use to be placed on concrete, natural ground, or pavers, and when used with a membrane can be used for rooftop spaces. Traditionally wood was the choice for decks, and many clients still love the natural look of wood. However, a tiled or floating paver deck can be more practical. Tiles generally do not splinter and are more resistant to stains and the elements, whereas wood can take on stains if not properly treated and may become slippery if wet. In addition, although composite boards tend to last longer, natural wood can degrade over time, meaning replacement costs will need to be factored in.

What kind of tiles do I need?

When choosing a floating paver system, it’s vitally important to use the right kind of tiles. Interior and exterior tiles have different properties as exterior tiles must be resistant to the elements. Smooth surfaces can become extremely dangerous when wet, which can be a major concern with decking alternatives, so any exterior tile that you use must have an anti-slip surface. As exterior stone tiles are often used in areas with swimming pools, the chance of a serious injury is very high if you do not choose suitable tiles. Outdure’s range of tiles is specially selected for use with the Qwickbuild floating pedestal system. They come in three beautiful, natural looking shades. Each has an anti-slip surface, meaning far less chance of taking a tumble when the pavers are wet. The Qwickbuild system ensures there are no gaps between the exterior stone tiles and that they provide an even surface. Trip hazards can be lethal for people of all ages, but it’s especially important for people who may be unsteady on their feet.

Can I install a floating paver system myself?

According to internet videos, it seems almost anyone could install their own floating pedestal system, but the smart decision is to consult with experts. There are real risks of causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to spaces which have a roof garden improperly installed above.
